The agent in short

Everything that usually decides it, before the detail below.

In detail

Built on our own product, aiscreenr.com. The agent invites candidates, runs a structured interview that adapts its follow-up questions to each answer, scores every response against your competency framework, and hands your recruiters a ranked shortlist with recordings and full transcripts. Every applicant gets the same interview and the same standard — including the ones who would otherwise have been screened out by a CV keyword.

Who it is for

Built for these teams

Employers where the volume of applicants, or the cost of a slow process, has made proper first-round screening impossible.

High-volume hiring

Production, logistics, retail and call centres, where hundreds of applications per opening make a real first round arithmetically impossible.

Recruitment agencies

Screening capacity is the constraint on how many roles you can run at once. This lifts the constraint without lowering the standard.

Companies hiring across several countries

The same structured interview, conducted in each candidate's language, scored on one consistent scale.

Teams with no dedicated recruiter

Where hiring is done by a manager in the evenings. The agent runs the first round so the manager only meets a shortlist.

Before we start

What we need from you

A clear role definition and somewhere to send the results.

  • A job description and, more importantly, what actually distinguishes a strong candidate from an adequate one.
  • Your competency framework or scoring criteria — if you do not have one written down, we build it with you during setup.
  • ATS access if you use one, so invitations and results flow without anyone copying data between systems.
  • A decision on the interview length and format per role: typically fifteen to twenty-five minutes.
  • A named person who reviews the shortlist — the agent screens, but hiring decisions stay with humans.

Setup

How much it decides, and where it runs

Autonomous screening with human decisions, running on aiscreenr.com or inside your own environment.

How much it decides

Draft-first

The agent prepares everything and a human approves before anything leaves the building. Slower, and the right choice while you are still establishing how often it is correct.

Autonomous

The agent acts on its own within the rules you set, and escalates whatever falls outside them. Almost every client arrives here gradually, one process category at a time, rather than on day one.

Where it runs

Our managed cloud

We host, monitor and maintain the agent, and you pay nothing for infrastructure. The fastest way to production and the usual choice for a first agent.

Your own infrastructure

The agent runs inside your cloud tenancy or on your servers, so your data never leaves an environment you control. Common in banking, healthcare and the public sector.

Hybrid

Processing happens in our environment while the sensitive data stays in yours, connected over a restricted interface. A practical middle ground when policy and speed pull in different directions.

The agent runs the first round unattended, because that is where the arithmetic is impossible for a human team, and stops there. It does not decide who is hired and does not reject anyone on its own — it ranks and evidences, and a person reads the shortlist. We are deliberate about this: automated screening is useful and automated rejection is both a legal and a reputational problem, and the EU AI Act treats recruitment as high-risk for exactly this reason.

Process

How the rollout runs

From a role definition to a ranked shortlist, per opening.

Week 1

Role and criteria design

We turn your job description into a structured interview: which competencies matter, what a strong answer to each looks like, and how they are weighted against each other. This is the part that decides whether the scores mean anything.

Week 2

Interview build and calibration

The question set, the adaptive follow-up logic and the scoring rubric are built, then calibrated against candidates you have already assessed — so the agent's scoring is checked against your judgement rather than asserted.

Week 3

First live opening

One real role runs end to end. You review every interview, not just the shortlist, and tell us where the ranking disagrees with your instinct so the rubric can be corrected.

Week 4 onward

Rolled out per role

New openings reuse the framework with role-specific questions. We review scoring distribution periodically to catch drift, and to check that no group is being systematically disadvantaged.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Is AI interviewing legal in the EU?

Yes, with conditions. The EU AI Act classifies recruitment as high-risk, which requires transparency to candidates, human oversight of decisions and documented testing. We build to that: candidates are told it is an AI interview, every decision stays with a person, and the scoring is documented and reviewable.

Will it discriminate against certain candidates?

The risk is real and we treat it as a design constraint rather than a disclaimer. Structured, identical questions scored against a fixed rubric is considerably more consistent than unstructured human first rounds, but it is not automatically fair — so we calibrate against your own past assessments and review score distributions across groups as part of ongoing monitoring.

Do candidates find it off-putting?

Some do, and it depends heavily on the market and the role. What consistently helps: being clear it is an AI interview up front, keeping it under twenty-five minutes, letting candidates take it when it suits them, and guaranteeing that a human reads every shortlisted result.

Can it detect someone reading answers from ChatGPT?

It flags the signals — timing patterns, answers that do not match the follow-up question, delivery inconsistent with the rest of the interview — and surfaces them for a human to judge. We do not claim certainty here, and you should be sceptical of any vendor who does.

How is this different from buying aiscreenr.com directly?

aiscreenr.com is the product and you can use it as it comes. This agent is that product integrated into your process: your competency framework, your ATS, your invitation flow and your reporting, set up and calibrated with you rather than configured from a template.
